Clock - Aaron Willard, Boston, banjo wall clock, circa 1830, 8-day time only weight driven mvt, mahogany case with reverse painted throat and lower tablet, painted iron dial measures approximately 7.75 inches, clock measures approximately 42 inches tall x 10 inches wide at widest point x 4 inches deep and weighs approximately 16 lbs, no visible s#. CONDITION:
Mvt: Running when removed from consignor's home display, has not been set up and tested since, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, some surface spotting; dial with scattered small spots and few fine scratches, printing loss to portion of 2 numeral, some small bits of printing loss elsewhere to numerals and minute chapter, signature is strong, some paint loss at perimeter outside minute chapter at 12:30, 4:30 and 8:30; fine hands with ample finish loss and some oxide; case shows little wear, still retains its original finish and finial, some mild losses of gilt paint to lower portion, two small dings to left side rear rib, reverse painted throat is excellent, reverse painted lower tablet with area of loss at upper-central portion of scene and more substantial areas of loss to perimeter border, piece of paper has been inserted behind lower tablet to lessen visibility of paint loss at perimeter; good glass crystal.
